Category: HP
Diameter Range: 200-700mm
Permissible Current Load: 5.5-72kA
High power graphite electrodes have improved the degree of graphitization and electrical performance than RP graphite electrodes, they often use higher quality needle coke as raw material, and through special production processes improve their electrical conductivity and oxidation resistance. These electrodes can withstand high current density and are suitable for high-power electric arc furnace operations, especially in the continuous smelting process requiring a long time or in occasions requiring high energy conversion efficiency.
—HP Graphite Electrode Uses

Suitable for medium and large arc furnaces and furnaces with narrower throats.
- Widely used in the yellow phosphorus and abrasive industries. Yellow phosphorus is used to produce phosphate fertilizers, phosphoric acid, phosphates, and phosphating products. Abrasives feature high-temperature resistance, erosion resistance, and corrosion resistance, and their products are also widely applied in numerous fields such as metallurgy, steel, automotive, etc., offering unique functions not replaceable by other products.
- Used for smelting ordinary steel materials.
- Compared to RP electrodes, suitable for applications requiring higher power input and operating temperatures.
AGRM is an industry-leading graphite electrode supplier that integrates production, sales, and export. We always advocate the use of better materials and more advanced production processes to reduce energy consumption and material costs. We also produce RP graphite electrodes, UHP graphite electrodes, and SHP graphite electrodes.

—Highlights Of AGRM HP Graphite Electrode
Enhanced efficiency in steel production per ton: Through strategies such as augmenting the presence of needle-shaped petroleum coke in raw materials, optimizing formulations, and refining process management, we contribute to reducing per-ton steel consumption for our clients. Our consistent monitoring across various customers has demonstrated a sustained decline in per-ton steel usage within EAF furnaces, with reductions of up to approximately 30%.

Superior surface quality: Utilizing mechanical processing techniques, we meticulously grind electrode surfaces to eliminate irregularities, ensuring a premium finish.
Exceptional durability and lubrication: By subjecting the surface to anti-oxidation treatments, we extend the product’s lifespan, providing robust wear resistance and efficient lubrication.
Outstanding resistance to thermal shock, along with high conductivity and thermal transfer capabilities.
Minimal ash content: Our products boast an ash content not exceeding 0.3%.
—HP Graphite Electrode Instructions
- Electrodes should be stored in a clean, dry environment and shielded from vibration and impact, requiring pre-use drying.
- During joint placement, utilize compressed air to clean the holes thoroughly, then cautiously screw in the joints to avoid thread damage.
- When linking electrodes, ensure a 20-30mm separation before cleaning the cross-section of both electrodes with compressed air.
- When utilizing a wrench for electrode connection, tighten them fully to the specified position, maintaining a gap no greater than 0.05mm between the electrodes.
- To prevent electrode breakage, refrain from striking insulation blocks and arrange large blocks at the bottom and smaller ones at the top.
- Avoid mixing electrodes and nipples from different brands: Graphite electrode nipples are designed with a smaller thermal expansion coefficient than the electrode itself, preventing joint loosening even at high temperatures. Variations in the thermal expansion coefficients of graphite electrode bodies and nipples may occur between manufacturers. Mixing electrodes or nipples from different brands may lead to a higher thermal expansion coefficient in the nipples compared to the electrode, causing relaxation at elevated temperatures.
