Category: UHP
Diameter Range: 300-700mm
Permissible Current Load: 15-120kA
Ultra-high power graphite electrodes use top needle coke as the main raw material, after high-temperature graphitization treatment, with very low resistivity, thermal expansion coefficient, and excellent shock resistance. Designed to meet the high-performance requirements of modern steel-making electric arc furnaces, the UHP electrodes operate stably at extremely high current densities. They are suitable for performing demanding smelting operations, such as the production of high-strength, high-quality specialty steels.
—UHP Graphite Electrode Uses

Suitable for large, high-power arc furnaces. Widely used in the steel industry for arc furnace steelmaking. As the steel industry undergoes capacity structure adjustments, the production of high-quality and special steel requires the use of arc furnace smelting, which necessitates the use of graphite electrodes.
- Used in ultra-high power electric and ladle furnaces for producing high-quality and special steel.
- Suitable for demanding steelmaking processes, such as stainless steel production.
AGRM is an industry-leading graphite electrode supplier that integrates production, sales, and export. —Characteristics Of AGRM UHP Graphite Electrode
Reduced steel consumption per ton: Through strategies such as increasing the proportion of needle-like petroleum coke in raw materials, refining formulations, and optimizing process management, we assist clients in lowering steel consumption per ton. Our products have consistently demonstrated a decrease in per-ton steel usage in EAF furnaces through ongoing monitoring and observation of multiple customers, with reductions of up to approximately 30%.

High-quality surface finish: Utilizing mechanical processing techniques, we grind electrode surfaces to eliminate irregularities, ensuring superior quality.
Enhanced wear resistance and lubrication: The surface undergoes anti-oxidation treatment, extending its service life and providing robust wear resistance and effective lubrication.
Exceptional thermal shock resistance, conductivity, and thermal transfer properties.
Minimal ash content: The ash content does not exceed 0.3%.
—UHP Graphite Electrode Instructions
- Store electrodes in a clean, dry area, shielding them from vibration and impact, and ensure they are dried before use.
- Clean holes with compressed air before carefully screwing joints in place to prevent thread damage.
- Clean the cross-section of electrodes with compressed air when they are 20-30mm apart during connection.
- Use a wrench to tighten electrodes fully to the specified position, ensuring a gap of no more than 0.05mm between them.
- Prevent electrode breakage by avoiding contact with insulation blocks and arranging large blocks at the base and small ones at the top.
- Do not mix electrodes and nipples from different brands: The graphite electrode nipple's thermal expansion coefficient is designed to be smaller than that of the electrode, preventing joint loosening even at high temperatures. Thermal expansion coefficients may vary among manufacturers, mixing electrodes or nipples from other brands may lead to a greater thermal expansion coefficient in the nipples, causing relaxation at elevated temperatures.
